Rat King Cole is a ska-jazz fusion band hailing from San Antonio, Texas since 2013 and a staple in the SA music scene, with a unique sound blending upbeat ska rhythms, smooth jazz melodies, and a touch of reggae and funk thrown in for good measure. Their energetic live show gets people up and dancing with catchy hooks and infectious grooves. With influences ranging from traditional ska and jazz greats like Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong, to ska, funk, and reggae acts like The New York Ska/Jazz Ensemble, Fishbone, and Bob Marley, Rat King Cole brings a fresh and innovative approach to the genre.
Based out of Austin TX, Cool Under Fire delivers an uncompromising sound reminiscent of the Jamaican music of the 1960s and 1970s, blending early reggae, ska, and rocksteady.
